Budapest's Main Bridge to Be Illuminated in Colours of Ukrainian Flag
The Chain Bridge in Budapest will be illuminated in the colours of the Ukrainian national flag as a manifestation of solidarity and support for the Ukrainian state on its holiday.
This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary on Facebook.
As noted, this will take place on the Independence Day of Ukraine on Saturday 24 August in the evening, approximately from 20:00 to 23:00 CET.
In addition, the Ukrainian community in Budapest is planning a number of events throughout the day to mark the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence. In particular, in the morning of 24 August, a Prayer for Ukraine will be held, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Taras Shevchenko monument and a festive meeting at the premises of the Ukrainian Self-Government of Hungary.
At 16:00, the ‘Honouring Soldiers, Running for the Heroes of Ukraine’ race will take place, a tradition of honouring the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In addition, on Saturday, on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, Ukrainian flags will be hung in front of the Senate and in the courtyard of the main building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
