Canada Announced Additional Economic Assistance to Ukraine for USD 1.8 Billion

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced additional economic aid to Ukraine amounting to $1.8 billion, emphasizing that under the leadership of President Volodymyr Zelensky, conditions have been created for achieving a fair and lasting peace, but this requires Russia's willingness.
"Under President Zelensky's leadership, we have the conditions, the possibility of a just and lasting peace, but that requires a willing Russia," he said.
Carney stated that the attack on Kyiv that had occurred during the night showed how important it was to support Ukraine during this difficult time. "The barbarism that we saw overnight, the attack on Kyiv shows just how important it is that we stand with Ukraine during this difficult time, and that we create the conditions for this just and lasting peace and a true reconstruction," he said.
“Today, we are announcing further economic assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 2.5 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.8 billion). This support will help attract funding from the IMF, the World Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to begin the reconstruction process,” he said.
Carney assured that Canada would continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney for the new aid package.
“Today in Canada with Prime Minister Carney, as agreed. Together we are talking with our friends from Europe. I am grateful for all the support for Ukraine, especially for the support of air defense,” Zelensky wrote on Facebook.
