China Expands Comprehensive Cooperation with Aggressor Country Russia Following Iran
Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured Russian leader Vladimir Putin of China's readiness to expand comprehensive bilateral cooperation and to contribute to maintaining global stability together with Russia.
This was reported by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
‘I attach great importance to the development of China-Russia relations and am ready to work with President Putin to... constantly expand comprehensive cooperation between China and Russia... and continue to contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the world,’ Xi wrote in a congratulatory message to Putin on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He added that China and Russia are world powers and major emerging economies, whose political mutual trust continues to grow and whose practical cooperation has achieved remarkable results.
As a reminder, Western countries have repeatedly identified Russia as the main threat to global stability and peace, in particular, the US State Department considers Russia a ‘persistent global threat’, and most EU countries and EU High Representative Josep Borrell call Russia an existential (that will exist as long as Russia exists - ed.) threat to Europe.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognised Russia as an aggressor country back in 2015. 271 MPs voted in favour. The respective appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was sent to the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, and the parliaments of the world's states on the recognition of the Russian Federation as an aggressor state.
Earlier, ISW reported that Russia and Iran are expanding economic cooperation and will sign a proposed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement at the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan, Tatarstan, from 22 to 24 October.
