Denmark Provides Ukraine with 19th Military Aid Package for Defence and F-16 Support
The Government of the Kingdom of Denmark has approved the 19th financial package of military support for Ukraine. This package aims to meet the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and strengthen its long-term defence capabilities, according to the Danish Ministry of Defence.
The Danish government stated that this aid package includes significant contributions to the Ukrainian defence industry, the procurement of additional equipment to support the F-16 fighter jets provided by Denmark, and material assistance from the Danish Defence Department's own reserves.
Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen assured that Copenhagen is providing the maximum possible support for Ukraine's battlefield needs. "With the latest donation package, we are offering as much support as possible to meet Ukraine's battlefield needs here and now. But we also have a long-term security commitment to support Ukraine over the next 10 years. Therefore, we have established a Danish model for donations to the Ukrainian defence industry, which will help boost Ukrainian military production in both the short and long term," said Troels Lund Poulsen.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen described the investments in the Ukrainian defence industry as an effective and sustainable way to support Ukraine's combat readiness. He promised that Denmark will continue to expand its support for the Ukrainian defence industry and will involve the European Union in this effort.
It is worth noting that the last two military aid packages from Denmark reserved a total of 1.2 billion Danish kroner (approximately 108 million euros) for investments in the Ukrainian defence industry.
The Danish Ministry of Defence stated that the new package allows the allocation of these 1.2 billion kroner to quickly meet Ukraine's needs. Thus, the first project using these funds is expected to start this summer, although Danish officials have not specified what exactly will be implemented within this framework.
As a reminder, The Gaze detailed the 18th military aid package from Denmark to Ukraine, which included air defence systems and artillery.
