Denmark to Allocate 1 Billion Kroner for Ukraine's Defence Industry
Denmark will allocate 1 billion Danish kroner (about $96 million) for the Ukrainian defence industry. Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen made the announcement at a press conference in Ukraine, public broadcaster DR quoted her as saying.
Frederiksen is on a visit to Ukraine on 19 November.
On the same day, she announced at a press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that 1 billion Danish kroner (about $96 million) would be allocated for the Ukrainian defence industry.
‘We can only have peace in Europe if we can defend ourselves,’ she said.
According to the public broadcaster, Frederiksen also called on other European countries to follow Denmark's example and donate more money to Ukraine.
The journalists noted that the money comes from the Danish Fund for Ukraine and will be used to produce Ukrainian weapons.
Earlier, Ukraine signed a number of implementation agreements with the Danish Ministry of Defence on the purchase of weapons, such as self-propelled artillery systems, drones and missiles, totalling about 535 million euros.
