Drone-Only Attack Disables $60 Million Russian Ship Near Novorossiysk

Special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine successfully struck a Russian Black Sea Fleet ship near Novorossiysk using only a Ukrainian-made combat drone.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR) on Telegram.
On September 10, 2025, in the Black Sea, Ukrainian special forces of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine tracked and attacked a ship of the MPSV07 multifunctional vessel project from the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
The ship, commissioned in 2015 and valued at approximately $60 million, is equipped with diving complexes, remotely operated vehicles, a side-scan sonar, and RER devices. During the attack, the ship was conducting radio-electronic reconnaissance and patrolling the approaches to the Novorossiysk bay.
“The masters of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine delivered a precise strike with a Ukrainian-made combat drone to the control bridge, where, in particular, the ship's navigation and communications equipment is located,” the statement said.
The attack reportedly destroyed the RER equipment and disabled the ship, which now requires costly repairs.
“The armed struggle continues!” the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine emphasized after the successful strike on the ship.
As The Gaze informed earlier, Ukrainian unmanned systems targeted Rosneft’s Ryazan Oil Refining Company overnight, striking one of Russia’s largest refineries and disrupting a key hub of its fuel industry.
