Duda Threatens to Shut Rzeszów Airport Over Ukraine Aid Disrespect

Polish President Andrzej Duda criticized the attitude of the allies and Ukraine towards the role Poland plays in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Onet.
In an interview with the Polish media, he condemned Poland’s lack of involvement in international negotiations on the transit of military aid to Ukraine and threatened to shut down the key airport in Rzeszów, through which most supplies pass.
“They simply believe that the airport in Rzeszów and our highways belong to them, as if they were their property. But it’s not – it’s ours. If someone doesn’t like something, we will simply close it – we will say that it is being repaired, and goodbye,” Duda said, emphasizing the importance of Polish logistics.
The President of Poland noted that Polish involvement in international support for Ukraine is often downplayed.
Duda also admitted that at the NATO summit in Vilnius, he blocked a part of the final conclusions because it did not mention Poland, considering it unacceptable and requiring changes.
At the same time, he spoke positively about the development of relations with Ukraine: “My personal relationship with Volodymyr Zelenskyy has resulted in certain political and image benefits for Poland,” President Duda stated.
He emphasized, however, that Poland deserves to be treated with respect as a transit country for military supplies to Ukraine.
“This is not about negotiations with Ukraine. We need to discuss this with our allies – the Germans and the Americans,” Duda emphasized.
