Estonia to Provide Ukraine with Anti-Drone Missiles for Testing
Ukraine will receive air defence missiles from Estonian defence company Frankenburg Technology for testing by the end of 2024. The missiles are designed primarily to counter drones and are capable of shooting down targets at an altitude of up to 2 km.
According to the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, this was discussed at a meeting in Kyiv between Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General Anatoliy Klochko and the management of Frankenburg Technology.
According to the ministry, the first missile samples for testing will be delivered by the end of 2024.
Frankenburg Technology CEO Kusti Salm stressed that the company's goal is to win this war.
‘To do this, we are offering a sample of a new low-cost missile to shoot down air targets, primarily unmanned aerial vehicles,’ Salm said.
He emphasised that in case of successful tests and consent for further use, the production of these missiles could be organised in Ukraine.
The parties have previously agreed that the next step may be to agree on a format for financing the production of missiles.
As The Gaze previously reported, on the night of 8 November alone, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down more than 60 Russian drones that Russia used to attack Ukrainian regions.
