Estonian Prime Minister: Best Way to Defend Yourself - to Help Ukraine
The best way to defend ourselves is to help Ukraine win its fight for freedom, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said, commenting on Saturday's vote by the US House of Representatives to support funding for arms supplies to Ukraine.
"The decision of the US House of Representatives to send urgent military aid to Ukraine is decisive and right," Kaja Kallas wrote on the X (Twitter).
"The best way to defend ourselves is to help Ukraine win the fight for freedom," the Estonian prime minister stressed.
She also expressed the hope that "this vote will encourage all allies to reconsider their compositions and do more".
As reported by The Gaze, after the US Congress approved a military aid package for Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the US House of Representatives, both parties, Speaker Mike Johnson, President Joseph Biden and the entire American people for their support of Ukraine. He stressed that with continued assistance, Ukraine "will have a chance to win".
As a reminder, on Saturday, the US House of Representatives voted in favour of a long-delayed bill to provide $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. This decision was supported by 311 members of the House of Representatives - 210 Democrats and 101 Republicans.
The bill is expected to be considered by the Senate next week.
