To have a good summer holiday, you need to plan your entire trip in detail now. But how do you know where to go? After all, the last thing any of us wants to do is spend a lot of money and precious time on our annual holiday, only to regret it for many, many months. However, this is exactly what will happen if the chosen place does not suit the person from an astrological point of view.

This is claimed by numerous tiktokers, obsessed with prophetic natal charts and all sorts of Mercury retrogrades, who are actively reviving and promoting a half-forgotten practice developed by American astrologer Jim Lewis in the mid-1970s - a kind of astrocartography. Actually, he didn't so much develop it as refine it, taking into account the possibilities of new computer technologies that were rapidly developing at the time.

The idea that the stars and planets in the sky could somehow be connected to certain places on earth was of interest to astrologers in ancient Mesopotamia. Today, there are many different methods of astrocartography, but their essence is the same: if a person moves from his or her place of birth to some other place on Earth, the grid of so-called "horoscope houses" shifts, and the traveller notices the manifestation of new qualities in himself or herself. This means that all this can be controlled, that is, you can take your fate into your own hands, including the fate of your future holiday. It sounds like manna from heaven, but there are pitfalls…

The main problem is that without an experienced natal astrologer with some additional certificate in astrocartography, it is not impossible to understand this science, but very difficult. For example, the Jim Lewis system shows all the places on our planet where the planets were "at an angle" (either rising or setting, or at the zenith or nadir) at the time of birth. And then, when creating an astrological chart for a traveller or an immigrant, special places in the horoscope - "angular houses", the position of the planets relative to them and the places where planetary lines cross - are taken into account. The final forecast is made on the basis of this and a lot of other astrological data.

It is so difficult to understand astrocartography that even Jim Lewis himself, shortly after patenting his innovative system, had a serious accident while travelling to Sydney - right at the point of his personal line of ascent to Mars, which in astrology is famous for aggression, confrontation and a tendency to bloodshed. If the author could read his own astrological charts, he would have avoided Sydney like the plague.

So, what should we, ordinary people, do if we have a burning desire to take this burden of determining our future holiday destination off our shoulders and trust the will of the majestic planets? Well, the first option, as already mentioned, is to go to a professional astrologer, where you can get a serious answer to a serious question for serious money: Madrid or Athens? Krakow or Bratislava? Lviv or Karlovy Vary? The second option is to try to figure it all out yourself, armed with the instructions of the same tiktokers or reading some guide like "Finding Your Best Places: Using Astrocartography to Navigate Your Life" by Dan Furst. The latter option is much better, because tiktokers, as you know, will only confuse you even more.

But first of all, you need to think: do you even believe in horoscopes, astrology, and the fact that the movement of planets in the solar system directly affects human life? Because, you know, these are not things that are considered to be proven by science. Perhaps you'd be better off just buying a political map of the world, hanging it on the wall, standing 10 metres away, and throwing darts blindfolded. Wherever it hits, you should buy tickets for holidays and book a hotel there. If it hits the cat on the windowsill, you'll need to go to the veterinary clinic.

Suppose you haven't decided yet whether you believe in astrology or not. Then you need to play around with it yourself a little bit - there is a service for this: a free astro charting calculator. You enter your date of birth, its place and time (if you know), and voila - the program generates a personal astrological forecast for you. To begin with, you can simply ask which points on the planet (cities and countries) cross the lines of celestial bodies marked with the corresponding icons in the fields.

The main attention should be paid to the lines of the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter, which are the most human-friendly. You can also go to the Moon if you are interested in cosiness and warmth, because this is its parish. Places that intersect with the Sun's line will help you unlock your potential and enjoy life to the fullest. The meeting of geographical locations with the line of Venus is an indication of places where you are likely to find love and new acquaintances. Finally, Jupiter will pinpoint the points on the map where you will take risks and generally behave spontaneously and feel positive.

And finally. How do you know if you've made a 100% mistake in your amateur astrocartography experiments? It's simple: if your natal chart points you to Moscow, Minsk, Gaza, Tehran or Pyongyang, there can be no doubt that something has gone wrong. There is astrology and there is common sense. And the latter suggests that planning to spend a long-awaited summer holiday in the countries of a real totalitarian hell is, to put it mildly, a bad idea.
