Estonian Prime Minister: US and UK Aid to Ukraine Should Inspire Other Countries
The assistance provided by the United States and the United Kingdom to Ukraine should inspire other countries to follow suit. Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas said this in an interview with The Telegraph.
"If we fail to help Ukraine, what will it say about us?" Kallas said.
According to her, the free world must demonstrate its will and defeat Russian aggression in Ukraine.
"Ukraine needs both our immediate military assistance and long-term support. The goals of the Russian Federation have not changed, it has always relied on the fact that one day our assistance will decrease and our unity will disintegrate. In this regard, all packages of weapons and ammunition, including the latest from the UK and the US, are very welcome," the Estonian Prime Minister added.
"This should also inspire others to deliver what Ukraine urgently needs. We must not forget that we have the resources and experience - our strength outweighs that of Russia," Kallas said.
The day before, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas called on NATO partners to increase defence spending in order not to provoke a possible Russian attack by their weakness.
Earlier, the US approved a package of assistance to Ukraine worth more than $60 billion.
At the same time, the United Kingdom announced the largest-ever aid package to Ukraine, worth £500 million, with vital military equipment, including nearly 400 vehicles, 1,600 pieces of ammunition and four million rounds of ammunition.
