EU Council Approves Second Tranche for Ukraine Wort Over €4.2bn

The Council of the European Union today approved the second tranche of the Ukraine Facility programme for Ukraine in the amount of over EUR 4.2 billion. The funds will be transferred to the state budget of Ukraine in the near future. This was reported in an official press release on the EU Council website.

‘In the decision taken today, the Council concluded that Ukraine has met the necessary conditions and reforms envisaged in Ukraine's plan to receive the funds to be disbursed under the programme,’ the statement said.

The EU Council also stressed the importance of disbursing the money as soon as possible, given the difficult financial situation in Ukraine.

Ukraine received the first tranche of €4.2 billion from the EU under the Ukraine Facility programme in August this year.
