After Russia heavily shelled Ukraine for the third night in a row, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the United States and Europe to show strength against Moscow to force it to cease fire.

The Gaze reports on this with reference to his post on social media.

In a statement released on Monday after the massive Russian shelling, the president stressed that only force, not dialogue, can stop the aggressor.

"The Russian army has used the largest number of drones against our cities and communities since the beginning of the full-scale war. 355 attack drones, most of which are "Shakhty". There were also 9 cruise missiles," the Head of State said.

According to him, the strikes hit the infrastructure and caused injuries to civilians in a number of regions: from Chernihiv to Khmelnytskyi, from Kharkiv to Odesa. This is the third night in a row that Russia has carried out combined attacks using drones and missiles, and, according to the President, this is a consequence of a sense of complete impunity.

"This does not make any significant military sense, but it does make significant political sense. In this way, Putin demonstrates how much he despises the world, which spends more effort on "dialogue" with him than on pressure," the Head of State said.

"Like any criminal, Russia can only be restrained by force. Only through strength - the strength of the United States, the strength of Europe, the strength of all nations that respect life - can we achieve a complete cessation of these strikes and real peace," the Ukrainian president said.

He called on the international community not to delay its response: to increase sanctions pressure, to strengthen the blocking of financial flows and oil exports from Russia. "Russia must end its war. And for that to happen, we must deprive them of the resources that fuel their will to fight," Zelenskyy stressed.

As The Gaze reported earlier, Russia launched one of its largest air attacks in weeks overnight, striking civilian infrastructure across Ukraine and killing at least 13 people, including three children.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday condemned Russia's latest shelling of Ukraine and said he was considering additional sanctions against Russia.

On Sunday, Zelenskyy complained that "America's silence" and other countries' "silence" only encourages Putin to launch new attacks.
