Germany Delivers New Military Aid to Ukraine

On 17 March, Germany updated its list of military aid to Ukraine to include Gepard anti-aircraft systems and drones. This information was published on the German government's website.
The updated list includes 24 MRAP armoured vehicles, ammunition for the Leopard 1 main battle tank, MARDER infantry fighting vehicles and other armoured personnel carriers.
In addition, Ukraine received three Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems along with 10,000 rounds of ammunition (a full ammunition package for one system is 640 rounds).
Germany also handed over missiles for the IRIS-T SLM medium-range anti-aircraft missile system, 5,000 155 mm ammunition, 2,000 122 mm ammunition and 8,000 120 mm mortar shells.
The Ukrainian defence forces received drones, including 50 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts. In addition, 30 Gereon RCS tracked drones and 30 drone detection systems were delivered.
In addition, Germany has donated two WISENT 1 armoured vehicles for demining, 100 portable demining systems, two mine trawls, laser rangefinders, infrared binoculars, vehicles, assault rifles and first aid kits.
The previous update of the aid list took place on 17 February, when Germany handed over new equipment, drones and ammunition for various systems to Ukraine.
As The Gaze previously reported, in late February, the Conservatives led by Friedrich Merz won the German elections. Their priorities include support for Ukraine.
