Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States Issue Joint Statement in Support of Israel
President of the United States Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as the Prime Ministers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, and the United Kingdom's Rishi Sunak, along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, have released a joint statement following the Hamas attack on Israel. The relevant document has been posted on the official White House website.
In this joint statement, the leaders of these countries expressed unwavering and unified support for the State of Israel and unequivocally condemned Hamas and its terrorist attacks.
"We firmly state that Hamas's terrorist actions have no justification, no legitimacy, and must be condemned by the entire world. Terrorism has no excuse," the statement reads.
The leaders of these leading world nations pledged to support Israel in its efforts to defend itself and its people from terrorist attacks and emphasized the importance of not allowing this situation to be exploited by parties hostile to Israel for political gain.
"We all recognize the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people and support equal measures of justice and freedom for both Israelis and Palestinians. However, make no mistake: Hamas does not represent these aspirations, and it offers the Palestinian people nothing but more terror and bloodshed," the statement also said.
The United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Italy have promised to remain united and coordinate their actions as allies and friends of Israel to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East region.
It is worth noting that President Joe Biden has already ordered additional support for Israel following the largest Hamas attack on Israel in the past 50 years, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of civilians.
The Pentagon has also announced the deployment of U.S. military ships, including an aircraft carrier and additional aircraft, closer to the eastern Mediterranean. Specifically, the aircraft carrier "Gerald R. Ford," the world's largest military vessel, is part of the carrier strike group, along with the guided-missile cruiser "Normandy" of the Ticonderoga class, and four Arleigh-Burke-class guided-missile destroyers: "Thomas Hudner," "Ramage," "Carney," and "Roosevelt."
