Japan to Provide Remote Construction Technologies for Ukraine

Japan will supply Ukraine with cutting-edge remote-controlled construction technologies as part of the Japan-Ukraine Platform for Infrastructure Technology and Reconstruction (JUPITeR).
The Gaze reports this, referring to an announcement made by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, Japanese remote construction technology allows operators to connect to heavy machinery via a network and control it from anywhere in the world.
“Such innovations can help us reintegrate veterans into civilian life, provide dignified employment for people with disabilities, create flexible job opportunities for women on maternity leave, and ensure that vocational school graduates can work with advanced modern equipment. This is the path to an inclusive and technological future for Ukraine,” the ministry stated.
Ukraine has also expressed interest in receiving an electronic simulator for the State Training and Retraining Center, enabling students and future heavy-equipment operators to undergo hands-on training.
By this autumn, Japan plans to deliver simulation equipment to Ukraine and set up the first temporary control center to demonstrate these remote construction technologies in practice.
Launched in January 2025, the JUPITeR platform aims to bring Japanese expertise and technology into Ukraine’s reconstruction process. The initiative focuses on transport infrastructure, residential construction, logistics, and the restoration of critical facilities.
As The Gaze reported earlier, on June 5, Ukraine and Japan have signed a landmark agreement that unlocks a $3 billion loan for Ukraine, funded through revenues generated from frozen Russian assets.
