Kallas Explains How to Overcome Hungary’s Veto on Ukraine’s EU Membership

The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, claims that the EU has an understanding of how to act if the Hungarian veto on Ukraine's accession is not overcome, she told journalists in Lviv.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the European Pravda.
Kallas stressed that the EU has a firm belief that bilateral issues should not slow down Ukraine's accession to the EU, and European structures are preparing for a possible blockade.
‘We have a plan B and a plan C. But our focus is on plan A, which is to get everyone's support,’ she said, reminding that the EU is in dialogue with Hungary to lift the veto. ‘Ukraine has its homework to do, and the EU also has to do its homework. And we are working with the Hungarian government,’ she added.
If a compromise is not found, the EU is ready to act.
‘But if that doesn't work, we are already working on a plan B, but I won't reveal it. We are still in the process,’ Kallas said.
‘The accession process, or as we call it, the reunification process, is important not only for Ukraine but also for the European Union,’ the EU leader told reporters.
Earlier, the Ukrainian government claimed that the EU's attitude to Ukraine's movement was unfair.
At the same time, Orban complains that Zelenskyy wants to change the government of Hungary.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the European Union is reportedly crafting a legal workaround to prevent Hungary from derailing the bloc's upcoming extension of sanctions against Russia this July.
