King Charles III to Suspend his Public State Duties for Treatment
King Charles III will temporarily suspend his public duties to undergo treatment for cancer.
This was reported by Buckingham Palace.
Charles III was recently hospitalised for prostate surgery. However, during this operation, a "clear problem" of "benign hypertrophy" was noticed.
"Further tests have identified a form of cancer," Buckingham Palace announced.
"His Majesty has today begun regular treatment, during which time he has been advised by his doctors to stand down from public duties. During this period, His Majesty will continue to attend to state business and official business as usual," the statement said.
His Majesty has decided to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope that it can contribute to public understanding for all those affected by cancer around the world.
The King expressed his gratitude to his medical team for the quick intervention made possible by his recent hospital surgery. He remains quite positive about his treatment and hopes to return to full public work as soon as possible.
As previously reported by The Gaze, King Charles III expressed support for Ukraine in his first parliamentary speech in 70 years.
