Kyiv Receives German Support for Winter Energy Preparedness
Germany is strengthening the resilience of Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure by allocating €60 million to the Energy Support Fund.
The Gaze reports on this, referring to a statement made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on Telegram.
“These funds will help to deliver generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants faster,” Svyrydenko said, thanking German Energy Minister Katherina Reiche, who arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit on October 24.
During the meeting, they discussed Ukraine's preparations for winter and strengthening energy security. The parties agreed to create a joint Ukrainian-German working group on energy and expand industrial cooperation.

In addition, a Ukrainian-German business forum is planned for December in Berlin, aimed at creating a platform for new partnerships between companies from both countries.
Svyrydenko also proposed that Germany should conclude an intergovernmental agreement to support investors, based on the model already implemented by Denmark, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland.
She thanked the German side for its active position on the use of Russian assets.
“Today, macro-financial support is particularly important, and our German partners support any path that will allow these assets to be used to help Ukraine and end the war as soon as possible,” she said.
The Gaze previously reported that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he will push European Union leaders to use frozen Russian assets to provide Ukraine with a large-scale “reparations loan.”
