Lithuania Launches International Military Drills Near the Border with Belarus
Lithuania will launch the international command and staff exercise Strong Will 2024 on 6 November, the country's Ministry of Defence reports.
The exercises, which will last until 20 November, will take place in pre-determined military and civilian areas of Kaunas and southeastern Lithuania, near the border with Belarus.
The main goal of the exercise, organised by the Land Forces Command Headquarters, is to test the readiness of subordinate units to plan and conduct large-scale defensive operations, interact with NATO allies, integrate combat support units and coordinate mutual actions.
The military personnel participating in the exercise will plan and conduct defensive operations using the military combat management information system, so they will not conduct operations visible to the public.
In total, more than 400 soldiers with military equipment will take part in the exercise.
The army warns that the exercise in southeastern Lithuania may see more intense movement of military equipment and vehicles during daylight and darkness.
As The Gaze previously reported, NATO's largest artillery exercise began on Monday in Finnish Lapland.
