Lithuanian MFA Summons Russian Envoy over Bloody Attack on Ukrainian Sumy

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry summoned a representative of the Russian Embassy in Vilnius after a Russian strike on Sumy that killed at least 34 people.

‘Those behind this attack will not escape justice. Responsibility is also shared by all those who work for the criminal regime of the Kremlin, including Russian diplomats,’ the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
On 13 April, Russian troops hit the centre of Sumy with two ballistic missiles. Initially, 31 people were reported dead, but later the death toll rose to 34, including two children. There were also reports of 119 injuries, including 15 children.
On Monday, the EU Foreign Affairs Council is meeting in Luxembourg, with the situation in Ukraine once again on the top of the agenda.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys called on the EU to adopt the 17th package of sanctions against Russia.
