London Hosts Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra in Tribute to National Resilience

The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra, an ensemble founded in 2022 under the baton of Canadian conductor of Ukrainian descent Keri-Lynn Wilson, performed in London.
The Gaze reports this, referring to the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK.
The orchestra, founded in 2022 under the leadership of conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson, brings together leading musicians from Ukraine and those forced into exile by Russia’s invasion.
Since its inception, the ensemble has become a powerful cultural symbol, representing unity and resistance through music.
The concert in the UK capital carried both solemnity and hope, commemorating the suffering of Ukrainians while sending a message of resilience to international audiences.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale assault, the orchestra has earned global recognition, showcasing Ukrainian artistry on some of the world’s most prestigious stages – from the BBC Proms in London to New York’s Lincoln Center.
The Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom, which highlighted the event, praised the orchestra’s dedication and wished the musicians further success.
It also noted that British audiences are looking forward to new projects in support of Ukraine. “We wish the orchestra continued success and look forward to welcoming new projects in the United Kingdom in support of Ukraine,” the statement reads.
In August, the ensemble also played in Warsaw and Wrocław (Poland), Lucerne (Switzerland), Vilnius (Lithuania), Jūrmala (Latvia), Bucharest (Romania), and Amsterdam (Netherlands). Each venue was chosen in countries that have shown steadfast support for Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the Metropolitan Opera unveiled the first excerpt from “Mothers of Kherson” – a powerful new opera inspired by the true stories of Ukrainian mothers who crossed active war zones to rescue their children forcibly deported to Russian-occupied Crimea.
