MAD: Russian Spy Activity in Germany Intensifies

The Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD) informs that Russia intensifies espionage and destructive activities in Germany, The Gaze reports, citing n-tv.
“We are talking about a sharp increase in cases of espionage and hybrid measures. The approach is more massive and also more aggressive," says MAD President Martina Rosenberg.
She also emphasized that the Russian intelligence services are acting “as we knew it during the Cold War.”
In addition, their toolkit is expanding. According to the German News Agency, the number of cases that could fall under espionage and disruptive activities almost doubled during the year. It is reported that Russian agents continue to enter Germany through third countries.
These attacks have been intensifying lately as previously a threat of sabotage in the Netherlands by Russia and pro-Russian actors was reported by Dutch security agencies.
Dutch intelligence agencies also have identified concrete signs of Russian-linked sabotage activities, including efforts by pro-Russian individuals to slow down or hinder Dutch support for Ukraine.
Should be mentioned that NATO voiced its full solidarity with Estonia, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and the Czech Republic, all of which have publicly accused Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU, and its affiliated hacker group APT28 of carrying out cyberattacks targeting members of the Alliance, Ukraine, and other nations.
