Netherlands Exposes Russian Hackers Collecting Data on Western Arms Supplies to Ukraine

The Laundry Bear group of hackers, allegedly sponsored by the Kremlin, collected information on the purchase and production of military equipment by Western governments and the supply of weapons to Ukraine, according to Dutch intelligence.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Reuters.
The group also cyber-spied on high-tech companies, to which Russia has limited access due to sanctions.
Until September 2024, the hackers acted quietly, when they discovered an operation that gave them access to confidential data of the Dutch police.
‘The investigation also reveals that Laundry Bear has been responsible for cyber operations against Western governments and other institutions since at least 2024,’ the statement added.
This Russian hacker group is responsible for last year's cyberattacks on the networks of the Dutch police, NATO and several European countries.
‘The cyberattacks on Dutch institutions are part of a larger international cyber threat emanating from the hacker group,’ the Dutch intelligence statement said.
