Mayor of Town in France, Upset by Weather, Issues Decree to "Stop the Rain"

The mayor of the small commune of Coulons, France, is so fed up with the rain that he has issued a municipal decree to "stop the rain".
This was reported by 7sur7 with reference to AFP.
Irritated by the summer showers, Daniel Marrière ordered the sun out and called on the clergy to begin "primary communication with heaven" to help put an end to the unusual rainy weather in his commune.
"I hereby order that during... August, September, and why not in October, the rain should stop and be replaced by bright sunshine and a light breeze," he wrote in his order.
Last week, the Meteo France meteorological service reported that in June it rained 20% more than in 1991-2020, and in some regions it was more than twice the usual rainfall.
"I have never seen such weather in July. Yesterday morning it was raining, the sky was grey and you could barely see what you were doing. You had to switch on the lights in the house," the mayor said.
According to him, many residents of the commune approached him to thank him.
At the same time, as The Gaze reported, this year's June was the hottest on record across Europe.
These data suggest that 2024 could be the hottest year in Europe on record.
