NATO PA Reaffirms Strong Support for Ukraine in New Declaration, Says FM Sybiha

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s approval of the declaration “Peace Through Strength in Ukraine,” calling it a powerful reaffirmation of Allied support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing aggression, The Gaze reports.
“I am grateful to our partners for clearly stating that all forms of assistance to Ukraine must be increased, including military and financial support. Equally important is the emphasis on ramping up Allied and Ukrainian defence production to sustain our joint efforts,” Sybiha stated.
The declaration, adopted in the lead-up to the 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague, reaffirms NATO’s role as the cornerstone of Euro-Atlantic security and Ukraine’s path toward full NATO membership.
It also underscores the need to enhance deterrence capabilities, increase defense spending beyond 2% of GDP, and modernize collective defense tools, including missile defense and cybersecurity.
“We applaud the decision to strengthen sanctions pressure on Russia as it continues its brutal war of aggression,” Sybiha added, highlighting the declaration’s emphasis on continued sanctions, democratic resilience, and deeper cooperation with international partners.
Sybiha also stressed the political importance of Ukraine’s participation in the NATO Summit in The Hague. “It is of key political importance to send the message that Ukraine should participate… and that the summit’s decisions send signals of unity and strength,” he said.
