Nearly 9,000 Russian Shells Struck Ukraine on the Day Putin Spoke to Trump About ‘Peace’

Russia fired nearly 9,000 shells and kamikaze drones at Ukraine on the day Putin spoke to Trump about ‘peace,’ Gigi 24 reports.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians carried out a total of 116 attacks on the Ukrainian front that day. 34 of them took place in the area of Pokrovsk, a strategic city that Russian troops are trying to capture and which has become the epicentre of armed clashes in eastern Ukraine.

Throughout the day, the Russians generally launched about five attacks every hour - or about one attack every 10-12 minutes. In total, the Russians fired more than 5,800 shells and attacked with more than 3,000 kamikaze drones, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command said.

On 12 February, US President Donald Trump held phone conversations with Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelenskyy and called them ‘very good and positive’. After the calls, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Putin and Zelenskyy ‘want peace’.
