President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Russia may be planning military aggression against NATO countries as early as 2026. He said this while speaking to journalists at the Munich Security Conference.
According to him, this year Russia plans to prepare 15 divisions that will be trained and reinforced in the Belarusian direction.
‘We think they will all be on the territory of Belarus, or partially. It will be 100-150 thousand people,’ the president said.
He added that he was not sure that this large grouping would be aimed at Ukraine.
‘They can go to Ukraine, as they did in 2022, or they can go to Poland or the Baltic states. I think that's his idea. From everything I get from intelligence, I believe he is preparing a war with NATO countries next year,’ Zelenskyy said.
The President stressed that he was not fully confident in this development, but hoped that it could be prevented.
He also noted that Ukraine is ready to discuss all aspects of future peace with the United States, including the possibility of joining NATO.
