New York Opera to Intern Ukrainian Specialists

The Metropolitan Opera in New York, USA, has invited young professionals and managers from the Ukrainian opera sector to participate in a professional internship programme focused on developing talent in the field of opera.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine.
It is noted that employees of Ukrainian opera theatres and representatives of independent cultural initiatives can participate in the programme. In particular, they will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the internal processes and working standards of one of the leading opera theatres in the United States, as well as exchange experiences with American colleagues.
Employees of the following theatre or organisation departments are eligible for the internship:
- production department;
- stage management department;
- media department;
- marketing department;
- directing and staging department.
Interns will be assigned to one of the following departments of the Metropolitan Opera:
- Media & Presentations;
- Marketing and Advertising;
- Development (Guest Relations, Special Events and Development Services);
- Production.
Candidates will be selected by the Metropolitan Opera administration based on the applications submitted, taking into account professional experience and motivation.
To participate in the internship, you must submit an online application along with a letter of recommendation and a short motivation letter in English. The deadline for applications is 15 June 2025.
The conditions for participation are fluency in English, motivation to learn and further implement the experience gained in the Ukrainian opera field.
The programme involves four young Ukrainian professionals participating in the staging process and theatre management alongside their American colleagues from the Metropolitan Opera.
