No Signal That US and EU Will Halt Support for Ukraine – President Zelenskyy
There are no signals that the United States and the European Union will stop helping Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with the Associated Press, Ukrinform reports.
‘Today we have no signals that the United States of America will end its assistance. This is important. Thank you. We have no sign that the assistance will stop from the European Union, especially from the UK. We are grateful for this. All this assistance is confirmed by our bilateral contracts on security guarantees. There is appropriate money and support. But today, the composition in terms of percentage of aid or what our army has is about 40% domestic production for 2025, 30% with something from Europe and 30% with something from the United States of America. Therefore, if one of these elements does not work, it is not difficult to calculate by what percentage we will lose strength,’ Zelenskyy said.
He clarified that domestic production in Ukraine is currently developing and is an important component for strengthening the Ukrainian army.
The President of Ukraine added that there are currently no signs that this assistance will be reduced or blocked.
According to Zelenskyy, a diplomatic end to the war requires an effective plan for a just peace and a strong position of Ukraine at the negotiating table.
Earlier, in a video address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, US President Donald Trump directly blamed Russian leader Vladimir Putin for the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Trump said that he would lower the price of oil because ‘if the price drops, the Russian-Ukrainian war will end immediately’ as Russian energy revenues fund the military budget. He added: ‘It's time to end it.’
