Terrorist Attack in Paris: Three Accomplices of the Assailant Detained

The French National Anti-terrorist Prosecutor's Office has successfully arrested three individuals associated with the man who, armed with a knife and a hammer, carried out an attack on passersby near the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
This information is reported by Le Figaro, citing a statement from the French National Anti-terrorist Prosecutor's Office.
According to the prosecutor's statement, individuals close to the assailant, Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab, have been taken into custody. According to the investigation, one person, a German citizen, was killed in the armed attack, and two others, including a British citizen, were injured.
The attack occurred near the Eiffel Tower at around 9:00 PM local time. The victim of the aggression was a man from Germany, accompanied by his wife. The woman's life was saved by a taxi driver who intervened in the altercation.
Armand, 26 years old, managed to cross to the north bank, where he attacked two more people: a 60-year-old Frenchman and a 66-year-old British tourist, whom the terrorist struck with a hammer in the eye. Subsequently, the police were able to neutralize the perpetrator using a stun gun and arrest him.
"The National Anti-terrorist Prosecutor's Office will now be responsible for shedding light on this case so that justice prevails in the name of the French people," stated President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Prosecutor Jean-François Ricard, the suspect of intentional murder, Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab, pledged allegiance to the "Islamic State" (ISIS).
The perpetrator was born in France to Iranian parents. According to the prosecutor, the young man embraced Islam at the age of 18 and, in 2016, was sentenced to four years in prison for planning to go to Syria and join ISIS. Therefore, the youth was under close surveillance by law enforcement due to suspicions of extremism.
The assailant was also supposed to undergo a course of treatment for psychiatric disorders.
Earlier on Saturday, a video circulated on social media in which the suspect criticized the French government and discussed the topic of killing innocent Muslims.
Recall that on October 13, at around 11:00 AM local time, a man attacked a school in the northern city of Arras in France. As a result of the attack, a teacher was killed, and two people suffered serious injuries. Witnesses reported that during the attack, the criminal shouted "Allahu Akbar."
