Pentagon Chief Announces New $400 Million Aid Package for Ukraine
During his visit to Kyiv, the head of the Pentagon announced a new $400 million military aid package for Ukraine. This was reported by Ukrainian News Agency Ukrinform.
Austin made the announcement of the new aid package during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
‘Under the leadership of Joe Biden, the United States continues to increase this support for Ukraine. Today, I want to announce the President's $400 million aid package for ammunition, military equipment and weapons for Ukraine,’ Austin said.
As The Gaze previously reported, Austin arrived in Kyiv on Monday for an unannounced visit.
Recently, US President Joe Biden visited Berlin to discuss Russia's invasion of Ukraine with the leaders of Germany, France and Britain.
It has also been reported that the US is ready to provide Ukraine with up to $20bn as part of a G7 loan, which will be repaid from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.
