Poland Opens Camp Jomsborg to Train 1,200 Ukrainian Soldiers

In Poland, with the support of Norway, the Camp Jomsborg training center for Ukrainian military personnel was opened, capable of simultaneously training up to 1,200 soldiers.
The Gaze reports on it, referring to the Polish Ministry of Defense.
On October 1, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz attended the opening ceremony of the Ukrainian Armed Forces training center located at the Demba-Lipa land forces training ground in Poland. The event was also attended by Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik, Estonian Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur, and Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense Yuriy Myronenko.
The training center was implemented as part of an international initiative by the Norwegian Armed Forces in Poland and can train up to 1,200 soldiers at a time.
It is an important element of allied support for Ukraine and provides opportunities for further cooperation in the development of defense capabilities, in particular for the implementation of lessons learned during the war in the use of drones and modern military technologies.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the Ukrainian experience.
“This is not a one-way street. I think that an important element is that we will rely on the Ukrainian experience. There is a runway for launching drones next to us,” he said.
The Minister of National Defense added that this training also gives the Polish army the opportunity to implement the best military solutions for combating drones.
“The center is another element of the Alliance's support for Ukraine and enables further cooperation in building defense capabilities,” the Polish Ministry of Defense stated.
As The Gaze reported earlier, Ukraine and Poland have agreed to establish a joint task force on unmanned aerial systems, which will serve as a platform for coordinating technological initiatives and strengthening the defense capabilities of both countries.
