Poland Surpasses All Major EU Exporters and Rapidly Increases Exports to Ukraine
Poland has recorded a significant increase in exports of Polish products to third-country markets, and drew particular attention to the sharp rise in exports to Ukraine over the past two years.
This was announced on Wednesday during the Business Forum in Warsaw by Jacek Tomczak, Deputy Minister of Development and Technology of Poland, Wnp.pl reports.
According to the Polish minister, in 2023, Poland was one of 11 EU countries that recorded an increase in its own exports, while the EU average at that time was negative and amounted to -2.5%.
Tomczak said that the share of exports in Polish GDP in 2023 was almost 58% and was higher than in Germany or France.
‘In this ranking, we have overtaken all the largest exporters in the European Union. Even the war in Ukraine did not stop the growth of Polish exports. In the case of Ukraine, we are dealing with an explosion. In 2022, it reached 55 per cent, and in 2023 another 16 per cent,’ - Tomczak said.
The deputy minister added that Poland also boasts a significant increase in exports to countries such as the United States, Turkey, Mexico, India, the UAE, Kazakhstan and Singapore. He said that this increase in exports in 2023 was more than 30%.
