Polish Defence Ministry Accuses Russia of Drone Provocation

Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed that the object that fell on the night of 20 August on a cornfield in the Lublin Province was a Russian drone.
The Gaze writes about it, referring to Onet.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the violation of Polish airspace was yet another Russian provocation.
He stressed that this happened at a crucial moment – during intensified efforts to achieve a ceasefire or even an end to the war in Ukraine.
‘Russia is once again provoking NATO countries. After the drone incidents in Romania, Lithuania and Latvia, we are again dealing with a Russian drone. This is a special moment when discussions about peace are ongoing,’ he said at a press conference.
‘At a time when there is hope that this war, started by Russia, a war against the Ukrainian state, a war that also threatens NATO countries, has a chance to end, Russia is provoking again,’ said the Polish Deputy Prime Minister.
Kosiniak-Kamysz said that consultations are ongoing at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. ‘All allies’ are being kept informed of the situation on an ongoing basis.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that he had tasked the operational commander with preparing a ‘comprehensive report on today's Russian provocation.’
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski earlier confirmed that there had been a new violation of Polish airspace from the east and announced a protest by the Foreign Ministry against the ‘culprit.’
Separately, Sikorski's spokesman, Pawel Wronski, told Reuters that the object that exploded at night in a cornfield in eastern Poland was a Russian version of the Shahed drone.
