Russia Launches Massive Overnight Strikes on Ukraine, Hitting U.S. Company Facility

Russia unleashed one of its heaviest air assaults in recent weeks overnight on August 21, targeting multiple regions of Ukraine with waves of drones and missiles.
The Gaze reports this, referring to local authorities.
In Lviv, a combined attack involving Shahed drones and cruise missiles struck a residential neighborhood, killing one person and injuring at least three others, Mayor Andrii Sadovyi confirmed.
Among the wounded was a 38-year-old woman hospitalized with chest injuries and lung trauma. Two other victims sustained moderate wounds.
Local authorities said rescue services were working throughout the morning to clear debris, assist residents, and assess structural damage.
“It was another loud night for Lviv. The enemy repeated what it did a month ago, striking the same street,” Sadovyi wrote, referring to a previous attack in July.
In Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, a missile struck the premises of a large industrial facility, sparking a massive fire that destroyed warehouse infrastructure.
The attack injured 15 people, five of whom remain in hospital, with one person in critical condition. City authorities said all victims received timely treatment and were in stable condition.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha later revealed that the target was a major U.S. electronics manufacturer operating in the region, describing the strike as a deliberate attack on civilian business infrastructure.
He stressed that it mirrored earlier Russian strikes on Boeing offices in Kyiv and underscored Moscow’s strategy of “terror against normal life.”
Air defense sirens and blasts were heard overnight in Kyiv, Rivne, Lutsk, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and several other regions.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia launched a massive air assault on Ukraine, deploying 614 aerial threats, including 574 Shahed attack drones and decoys, four Kinzhal ballistic missiles, two Iskander-M missiles, 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 14 Kalibr cruise missiles, and one unidentified missile. Despite the high interception rate, missile and drone strikes were recorded at 11 sites.
