Polish Foreign Minister: Arms Race Could Topple Putin's Regime

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that a new arms race could lead to the fall of Vladimir Putin's regime, just as it once happened with the Soviet Union.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to FREEDOM.
According to the Polish diplomat, the Kremlin is repeating the mistakes of the past: having started a costly war, Putin is forced to sharply increase military spending. At the same time, Russia's actions have provoked a massive increase in defence budgets in the West.
Sikorski believes that Putin himself has created a situation in which Russia cannot economically withstand a prolonged war.
Earlier, Sikorski said that when US President Donald Trump recognises that Russian dictator Putin is playing dirty, manipulating the situation, and imposes tough sanctions against Russia, the European Union's response will be no less severe.
As The Gaze reported earlier, in January, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that Ukraine had blocked the possibility of direct gas transit from Russia to Europe, preventing Putin from blackmailing Eastern Europe.
