Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski: Ukraine Prevented Putin from Blackmailing Eastern Europe with Gas
Ukraine has blocked the possibility of direct gas transit from Russia to Europe, preventing Putin from blackmailing Eastern Europe.
Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski wrote about this on the X network.
‘Putin has spent billions on the construction of Nordstream to bypass Ukraine and blackmail Eastern Europe with the threat of cutting off gas supplies. Today, Ukraine has stopped direct gas exports to the EU. Who's digging holes for whom...’ Sikorski wrote.
He called it another victory after Finland and Sweden joined NATO.
Sikorski also clarified that ‘after Finland and Sweden joined NATO, there was another important victory of the great strategist and his three-day special military operation’ and called on his followers to comment on his post to prevent misinformation.
As The Gaze previously reported, Ukraine, in accordance with the expiration of the contract and in the interests of national security, stopped the transportation of Russian natural gas through its territory at 07:00 on 1 January.
Prior to this, Ukraine informed its international partners about the termination of Russian gas transit in accordance with the established procedure.
The European Commission has confirmed that Europe is ready to stop the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine from 1 January 2025.
