Romania Begins Training Ukrainian Pilots on F-16 Fighters and Will Supply Ukraine with Additional Patriot Air Defence System

A group of Ukrainian pilots is undergoing training on F-16 fighter jets in Romania. This was announced by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov. Romania will also soon provide Ukraine with an additional air defence system Patriot.

Umerov said he discussed strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies from Russian missiles and drones in a telephone conversation with Romanian Defence Minister Angel Tilvar.

‘There will also be more F-16s in the Ukrainian sky: a group of our pilots is already undergoing training in Romania,’ Umerov wrote.

According to the defence minister, Ukraine will also soon receive a new Patriot air defence system from its Romanian partners. Umerov also said that he plans to pay a working visit to Romania in the near future.
