Russia Launches Devastating Drone Attack on Odesa, Killing One and Injuring 14

In the early hours of June 20, Odesa was subjected to a massive drone strike by Russian forces, resulting in one fatality and at least 14 injuries, including three emergency responders.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) and the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine.
Russian forces deployed at least 10 explosive-laden drones in a targeted strike that damaged key elements of the city’s civilian infrastructure.
The drones struck residential areas, sparking massive fires and causing widespread destruction.
One of the most severely damaged sites was a 23-story apartment building, where fires broke out on several upper floors.
Emergency workers evacuated approximately 600 residents and rescued three people, including two children, from a locked apartment.
During rescue operations, a structural collapse injured three firefighters. They are currently hospitalized in stable condition.
Elsewhere in the city, five additional residential buildings caught fire, and three civilian vehicles were destroyed.
A four-story apartment block suffered partial collapse; search and rescue operations are ongoing amid fears that people may still be trapped beneath the debris.
In response, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service established an emergency support hub at the site.
The full scale of the damage is still being assessed. Prosecutors, in coordination with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), are collecting evidence to document the consequences of the strike.
