Russia’s Overnight Ballistic Missile Strike on Kyiv Kills One, Injures Ten
Russia launched a late-night ballistic missile attack on Ukraine’s capital, injuring at least nine people and damaging civilian infrastructure, including a kindergarten.
The Gaze informs about this, referring to Kyiv authorities.
Explosions were reported across Kyiv shortly after midnight, as air-raid sirens warned of incoming ballistic missiles from the northeast.
The Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed that multiple districts, including Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, and Darnytskyi, were hit during the assault.
By 9:00 a.m., city officials stated that one person had been killed and ten others wounded of varying severity
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that three of the injured have been hospitalized, while emergency teams continue rescue and repair operations at several impact sites.
Fires broke out in non-residential buildings, and debris caused damage to nearby homes and vehicles. In one residential courtyard, officials discovered a large crater left by the blast.

A kindergarten in Dniprovskyi district was among the structures damaged. Photos shared on social media showed shattered windows, twisted metal, and burned-out cars. Rescue crews and utility workers remain on-site to assess damage and restore essential services.
Authorities reiterated that Russia continues to target Ukrainian cities with a mix of ballistic missiles, guided bombs, drones, and multiple-launch rocket systems.
Ukrainian officials have condemned such attacks as war crimes, pointing to repeated strikes on residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and energy facilities.
Ukraine continues to call for increased Western support, particularly in air-defense systems and ballistic interceptors, to protect itself from ongoing Russian aggression.
