Spain Bans Penis Costumes and Sex Dolls for Stag Parties: Fines Up to €1,500

Spain's Costa Brava has announced a ban on penis and sex doll costumes with a fine of up to 1500 euros for appearing in public ‘in clothes representing human genitals,’ La Vanguardia reports.
Platja de Aro, a popular resort town on Spain's Costa Brava, is considered a favourite destination for honeymooners and girls thanks to package deals that include airfare, hotels and strippers.
Partygoers were also often seen wearing inflatable penis costumes and other clothing and accessories that reflect human genitalia. However, locals are sick of their crude antics.
The new rules prohibit people from going out in public ‘without clothes or in underwear only, or wearing clothes or accessories representing human genitals, or with dolls or other accessories of a sexual nature’.
Those caught will have to pay fines of up to €1,500.
Mayor Mauricio Jimenez explains that most of these bachelor parties in the municipality are organised between May and June, so the new document may be applied as early as the end of June.
The Plage de Aro City Council will also ban nude walking away from the waterfront and will punish dog owners who do not have excrement bags or water bottles to clean up the area.
‘These are attitudes that affect coexistence and need to be fought against,’ said the mayor of the municipality, Mauricio Jimenez.
The head of the local police of Playa de Aro, David Puertas, reminded that in summer the population of Playa de Aro increases significantly. The municipality, which has around 12,500 registered residents, can easily accommodate more than 300,000 people on an August bank holiday.
