Ukraine and the IMF Have Agreed at the Staff Level a New $8.2 billion Programme

"The week of active work by the International Monetary Fund mission, led by mission chief Gavin Gray, in Kyiv has ended with a positive result. The total volume of the programme is $8.2 billion over four years. This programme will help finance critical expenditures, maintain macro-financial stability, and attract additional external support, which is critical for us in the coming years. The agreement still has to be approved by the IMF Executive Board," she wrote.
the Prime Minister also highlighted three important points regarding cooperation with the IMF:
First, the IMF has confirmed the stability of the Ukrainian economy.
Second, the government has prepared the 2026 budget in line with the framework of the new IMF programme, with an emphasis on cost efficiency.
Third, Ukraine continues to pursue reforms. ‘Our priorities remain unchanged: macroeconomic stability, debt sustainability, transparency, and strong institutions. We are ready to continue implementing policies to combat the shadow economy, fight corruption, and strengthen public sector governance,’ Yulia Svyrydenko clarified.
