Switzerland will host the Global Peace Summit initiated by Ukraine on June 15-16 at the Bürgenstock resort in the Nidwalden canton near Lucerne, as reported by the Swissinfo agency.

Invitations to the summit will be sent to approximately 100 countries worldwide. The event is expected to serve as a platform for high-level dialogue on pathways to achieving comprehensive, just, and sustainable peace in Ukraine based on international law and the UN Charter. The Peace Summit aims to create a shared understanding of frameworks that will contribute to achieving this goal.

"There is currently sufficient international support for holding a high-level conference to launch the peace process," stated the Federal Council of Switzerland.

According to Swiss media reports, US President Joe Biden, who intends to participate in the G7 summit in Italy on June 13-15, may also be present at the Global Peace Summit. There is also cautious optimism in Ukraine regarding China's participation in this event.

It's worth noting that during his visit to Switzerland on January 15, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that both countries are starting preparations for holding the Global Peace Summit at the leaders' level. Subsequently, Switzerland approached China with an invitation to participate in the Global Peace Summit at the leaders' level.

On October 11, 2022, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Peace Formula to the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries to overcome the Russian threat.

The document includes defensive support for Ukraine, protection of territorial integrity, and punishment for those guilty of armed aggression. The formula also involves countering ecocide and documenting the end of the war.

The Gaze also reported that participants in the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) summit held in Vilnius, Lithuania, adopted a joint declaration expressing support for the idea of creating a more resilient Europe.

This was announced by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish President Andrzej Duda.

"We condemned Russia's war and expressed our support against the aggressor. We welcome the European Council's decision to begin the accession process for Ukraine and Moldova to the EU," said Gitanas Nauseda.

He added that the Three Seas Initiative also welcomes the creation of a group of common interests within the framework of the international transport forum and calls on all interested countries to join it.
