Taylor Swift Fans Trigger Earthquake Monitors 6 km from Stadium During Concert in Scotland
During Taylor Swift's concert in Scotland, the ground vibration caused by fans' dancing at the Murrayfield Stadium in the capital reached peak levels during the performance of the song "Ready for It?".
According to the British Geological Survey (BGS), Swifties transmitted enough energy to charge 6,000 car batteries over the course of the three nights.
The BGS reports that Taylor Swift's fans danced so hard at her concerts in Scotland that they even switched on earthquake monitors.
Seismic activity was recorded at a distance of up to six kilometres during three concerts last Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
The band's biggest hits "Cruel Summer", "Champagne Problems" and "Shake It Off" also generated a lot of activity over the three nights.
"Clearly, Scotland's reputation as the most enthusiastic audience remains intact," said BGS seismologist Callum Harrison.
After Taylor Swift performed three record-breaking shows on her Eras tour in Edinburgh over the weekend, she posted a heartfelt message of thanks to her Scottish fans on Instagram.
"Edinburgh!!! You really impressed me this weekend," she wrote in the caption.
"Thank you for breaking the attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland 3 times in a row and for making us feel at home."
"I love you, all 220 thousand of you!!!" Swift concluded, sharing several photos of her performance at the Murrayfield Stadium in the capital.
