Trump Says US Will Gain More from Minerals Deal Than It Spent on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has said that as a result of signing a subsoil deal with Ukraine, the United States could get more than the $350 billion it has spent on Ukraine.
The Gaze reports on this with reference to Trump's telephone interview with NewsNation.
Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US has spent about $350 billion on aid to Ukraine, although the actual figure is believed to be lower.
‘The Europeans have spent 100 billion, and their money is safe because they have Russian money in their banks. Biden gave them (Ukraine - Ed.) $350 billion in cash and military equipment... and we got nothing,’ Trump said.
That's why, he said, he felt cheated and mentioned the ‘wonderful rare earth materials they have’.
‘And today we made a deal that will theoretically get us much more than $350 billion,’ Trump said.
He also noted that he wants to help quickly conclude a lasting peace agreement to stop the deaths of soldiers on both sides and civilians.
As The Gaze reported earlier, the United States and Ukraine have finalised a landmark agreement granting Washington privileged access to Kyiv's natural resources, in a move aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and sustaining American engagement in Ukraine's post-war recovery efforts.
