Turkey Conducts Massive Anti-Terrorist Operation, Detains 176 Suspects
Security forces conducted a large-scale anti-terrorist operation in 31 provinces across Turkey, during which they detained 176 suspects of terrorist activities and links to the Kurdistan Workers' Party and its other branches.
This was reported by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on the social network X.
‘176 suspected members of a terrorist organisation were caught during the GÜRZ-20 operation against the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG in 31 provinces,’ Yerlikaya wrote.
The detainees are suspected of terrorist activity, belonging to the PKK youth structure, financing a terrorist organisation, propagating the PKK through social media accounts, and participating in illegal demonstrations, including road blocking and tyre burning.
It is noted that a large number of unaccounted for weapons, drugs, documents and digital materials were seized during the operation.
As a result of the terrorist attack on 23 October at the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) in Kahramancan, near Ankara, five people were killed and 22 people were injured, two of them in serious condition. Two terrorists were neutralised.
The Kurdistan Workers' Party claimed responsibility for the attack.
