In two days, Russian occupation forces hit two foreign civilian vessels that were loading in the ports of Odesa, southern Ukraine, with ballistic missiles.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority on social media.

On the night of 6 October, Russian occupation forces attacked the civilian ship PARESA, flying the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, with a ballistic missile in the Ukrainian port Pivdennyi, in the south of the country in Odesa region.

It is noted that the ballistic missile hit the hold of the vessel, which was loaded with 6,000 tonnes of Ukrainian corn, which was to be sent to Italy.

‘Fortunately, 15 crew members, citizens of Egypt and Syria, were not injured,’ the statement said.

Despite Russia's claims of an alleged military cargo, there was only corn on board, the Sea Ports Authority writes.

On 7 October, the Palau-flagged OPTIMA vessel was hit by enemy ballistic missiles.

‘Unfortunately, one person was killed. Five other foreign nationals, crew members, were injured. They are currently receiving medical assistance. The vessel had just come in for loading. However, in a few hours it became the target of the aggressor country. It is important that port infrastructure is protected from terror and that free and safe navigation is guaranteed. We must continue to strengthen our air defence and bring the enemy to justice with the power of weapons and diplomacy,’ said Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.
