President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Romania Klaus Iohannis signed the Ukraine-Romania Security Cooperation Agreement in Washington on Thursday on the sidelines of the NATO Summit.
This was reported on the website of the Ukrainian president.
According to the statement, Romania will transfer the Patriot system to Ukraine, continue to support the country with the same dynamics as in 2022-2024, and facilitate the rapid transit of all necessary equipment through its territory to Ukraine.
A key feature of this agreement is the specific cooperation to strengthen security in the Black Sea region. Romania will assist Ukraine in demining the Black Sea and provide support through EU and NATO instruments.
Romania, together with its partners, will also support the F-16 training centre for Ukrainian pilots, thus contributing to the Air Force Capability Coalition. Romania will support Ukraine's defence industry.
