Ukraine Begins Production of NATO-Standard Assault Rifles
One of the enterprises of Ukrainian Defence Industry has started assembling NATO-standard rifles under a licence from Česká zbrojovka.
This was reported by the company's press service, Ukrinform reports.
‘In November 2024, licensed assembly of BREN-2 rifles began at one of the enterprises of the Ukrainian Defence Industry Joint Stock Company. This is a practical continuation of cooperation with Česká zbrojovka, a subsidiary of Colt CZ (Czech Republic),’ the statement said.
It is noted that currently the agreement with partners provides for the localisation of assembly. In the future, full production of NATO-standard assault rifles will be established in Ukraine.
According to Oleh Hulyak, Director General of Ukroboronprom, the partnership with the Czech company is another step towards the integration of the domestic defence industry into the industrial chains of NATO countries.
